A new menu item "C. value" can now be used to set a correctional
value that (whether positive or negative) will be added to the
measured temperature to compensate for such things as distance
between thermocouple and PCB.

if changing between values such as 160°C and 90°C,
the edit fields would show something like 90°CC.
That works properly now.
